If you are looking for an excellent game of golf, on a course designed for all to enjoy. In a tranquil rural setting, with a warm welcome when you arrive, then Shirland is the course for you.

Positioned at the head of a picturesque Derbyshire valley in pleasant undulating countryside this established 18 hole course has uninterrupted views of the breathtaking countryside with not a road in sight, yet is only a few minutes away from junction 28 of the M1.

As you play the course you will see an abundance of wild life. Including squirrels, foxes, rabbits, hares, and numerous varieties of birds including wood peckers, owls and hawks, encouraged by the provision of nest boxes and the abundance of cherries and hazelnut growing on the course.

You can peruse the competitively priced goods in the well stocked golf shop and benefit from the expert advice of the well-known resident professional, Ian Walley.

The Extensive drainage programme undertaken during the winter months has proved to be very successful, helping to keep the course open through all weathers and enabling the ground to dry more quickly after heavy downpours.

You can also take advantage of the practice ground and putting green or play the course in style in one of the buggies available for hire.

When you have finished your round you are assured of a warm welcome in the licensed club house.

A friendly welcome is extended to all golfers, day visitors, golf societies and corporate golfing parties. At the moment a limited number of membership places have also become available.
