Mick Murtagh - Mens Captain 2010

As Captain of Shirland Golf Club for 2010 I would like to welcome all new members, visitors and of course our valued existing members to our golf club.

I would like to think that either as a visitor or new member you will find it a friendly, relaxing club at which to play your golf, and I think that this year you will probably find the course in the finest condition it has ever been, so please enjoy your golf and our hospitality here at Shirland and I hope to see you either on the course or having a bite to eat in the clubhouse.

Personally I am looking forward to my year as Captain with great anticipation, and will try to play golf with as many members as possible, representing you and the club both home and away, come back here during the season for an update as to mine and the golf club's progress.

Finally for now a quick word about my Captain's Away Day, I have chosen a fantastic course at the side of Doncaster racecourse, Wheatley Golf Club have kindly agreed to a block booking which I am delighted to say has been filled already, 60 players including myself and our resident Professional Ian Walley will enjoy a day to remember on Monday 4th October 2010.  Deposits of £10 should now be paid as soon as possible and the balance of £30 (£40 total, includes golf, prizes and food) to be paid by 31st August 2010.
